Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my roof has hail or wind damage?
A serious storm in your area’s recent past can almost guarantee damage.
A close examination of the roof will reveal how much and how severe the damage is.
If I think I have damage what should I do?
Call C & S Roofing to schedule a free, no obligation roof inspection.
We will take care of everything else for you from this point!
What does the insurance company use to determine the amount of my claim?
They will look at the current size and type of your current roof and will see whether there is enough damage to your roof to declare a “Total Loss”
Why would my insurance company replace my roof?
Insurance protects homeowners against loss in their property’s value due
to damage that is beyond their control. Your insurance company should compensate you for this loss and replace your roof.
How much do you charge for roof inspections and meeting with my adjuster?
Absolutely nothing. All of our inspection and insurance services are FREE.
How long does it take to take my old roof off and replace it with a new one?
This depends on the size and type of the roof. Generally, about one day is average for shingle roofs.
Is there any time deadlines I need to be aware of?
Yes. Insurance companies will generally cover roofs within the first year of a storm.
This doesn’t mean they won’t cover a roof beyond a year, it just means it’s a little more difficult to get them to cover it. This is where we come in, we’re the experts!
Can my roof be replaced in winter?
Many roofing products have adhesive properties that require the sun’s heat for activation and our concern is that the self-sealing strips will not seal or bond sufficiently in cold temperatures (below 40F). The sealing strip will most likely not bond until warmer weather arrives and the sealing strips can set properly.
Will I have to replace gutters and downspouts at the same time?
If your gutters and downspouts are in good shape, our team will work around them if possible. If the gutters are damaged, the replacement will happen after the roof installation.
